Role Overview
Mini Katana is looking for a Content Strategist to develop high-performing short-form video ideas and work directly with our in-house creators and editors.
You will pitch concepts, write hooks and creative briefs, review videos, provide actionable feedback, and use performance data to improve future content. You will also help organize our content pipeline and ensure ideas move efficiently from concept through production.
The primary focus is creating content with our internal production team for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels. You may also support UGC initiatives and external creators when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Professional experience developing short-form content for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, or Instagram Reels.
- Previous experience working directly with an in-house team of creators and editors.
- Experience pitching repeatable video concepts, hooks, scripts, and content series.
- Ability to write clear creative briefs, shot lists, and production guidance.
- Strong understanding of retention, pacing, storytelling, and platform-native editing.
- Experience reviewing videos and providing specific, actionable feedback.
- Ability to use content-performance data to guide future creative decisions.
- Experience managing multiple concepts and videos through an organized production pipeline.
- Experience with UGC campaigns, creator-led content, or briefing external creators.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Familiarity with anime, gaming, collectibles, entertainment, or internet culture is preferred.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving, remote environment.
Core Requirements & Skills
- The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working within an in-house content team and understands how strategists, creators, and editors collaborate to produce short-form videos at scale.
- You should have strong creative instincts, understand hooks and audience retention, and be able to turn ideas into clear, practical briefs. You should also be comfortable reviewing rough cuts, giving specific feedback, and using analytics to determine what should be improved, repeated, or discontinued.
- Experience with UGC campaigns and creator-led content is valuable, but this role requires broader experience developing and managing content with an internal production team.
